Yes it does put me over 10000 . I don’t have any issues with that where I’m at. You would just have to get a dot number to solve that issue. If you can get in with rental companies you can make really good money. But they want you in business for 2-3 years before they even consider it. So it’s a struggle to get things going. A guy I work with is doing 35-40k a month. I’ve signed a contract with him where he sends me work and I give him a 15percent discount on just labor rates. Which I’m in rural area and new to here so it’s helped out a little.
I charge a service call fee that starts out at 75 for local then up to 95 with in a 85-90 miles. Then just goes up from there and depending on the work they need.if it’s a small job I’ve learned to put a min of two hours of labor to help cover cost. For labor I charge 115$ a hour , fittings are marked up normally 60% you’re just replacing what you use not really anything to make on them. On the hose end it’s marked up dramatically to help with cost of everything. I do 15$a foot on most hose 1/4 is cheaper. I know some guys that 20$ a foot just depends on the market where you are. It’s sounds like you got ripped but without knowing all the details it’s hard to say.

Nice, how big can you crimp?

I can do up 1-1/4 but I only carry up to 1inch because of cost.

Do you just stick with ordering hose by the reel? I initially ordered 50' of each up to 1" as well. Are you doing like a specific hose brand to your fittings? I have seen some aftermarket fittings and hose, just wasn't sure if you have encountered those yet?

I use gates , I can only buy full hose reels after the start up. The 4-6 wire hoses I can buy by the foot which I only keep 25-50ft at a time
